ITC SONAR KOLKATA – VALENTINES DAY DINNER

Lap of luxury is coherent with the brand ITC. The hotel’s infrastructure, staff, warmth, ambiance, culinary and hospitality never disappoints. Therefore, when I received an invitation by ITC Sonar, Kolkata to enjoy their exclusive Valentine’s Day private dinner at the magnificent Tea Pavillion by the lake, I jumped with joy and my husband, the foodie that he is could not stop drooling over the excitement of the amazing food that we would have received.
The brilliance of ITC with their private dining luxurious feeling of a shikara on a lotus pond, surrounded by candles, the experience is surreal. On arrival, we were guided through the flowery pavements, by the lotus pond to the place where a table of two was set only for us. Walking past the giant candles on either side to the brilliant structure on the lake, a bottle of sparkling wine was popped while we set ourselves amidst flowers and candles. The manager Anurag from Peshawari (which was our cuisine of choice) greeted us while pouring the wine on to our glasses, and introduced us to Abhishek who was our private butler for the evening.

The glasses were poured and the mood was set and then came the amazing flow of scrumptious food. For the starters, we were presented with a platter of Kababs ranging from, soft and succulent paneer, stuffed potatoes to king prawns, murgh malai kabab and mutton seekh kababs. It was a downpour of the culinary extravaganza. The experience did not stop there, After the appetizers, the spread of mouth-watering mains was presented, with Dal Bukhara, as always being a show stealer, but other dishes did not disappoint. The whole leg of lamb, Murgh Makhani and amazing pieces of bread like pudina paratha, lachha paratha, garlic butter naan were also served along with accompaniments of lachha onions, roasted papad, and raita. 

Our Stomachs were stuffed and mouth cleansed with the bubbly wine and we could not take in any more, but all hail, this was not the end. Desserts of Phirni, Gulab Jamun, and the amazing Valentines Day chocolate mouse cake left us with a sweet note to the amazing 4-hour luxurious culinary experience it was.

The experience is perfect for Valentine diners, to those amazing planned proposals or special date night, truly outstanding.
